The Role

Step is looking for our first Office Manager who is ready to have impact on day one to become the go-to person for all office management operations and simultaneously coordinate on behalf of the leadership team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work cross-functionally between many departments to help keep our office and operations running smoothly, have excellent time management skills and be willing to wear many hats.


  • Manage all office operations for StepHQ in Palo Alto while with creating a unified experience for remote employees 
  • Coordinate building management, vendors, and assist with managing office expenses
  • Maintaining office inventory for fully stocked kitchen and supply area
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure that we maintain our core values and an entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative environment
  • Collaborate with the People Team to plan team offsites, company parties, and culture-building events 

About You

  • 3-5+ years of Office Management / Coordination / Operations / EA experience
  • Very organized and capable of prioritizing tasks in a dynamic work environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office and Web based portal computer skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and work ethic
  • Adapt to new situations by thinking on your feet
  • Genuinely curious about people and business, while inspiring passion in others
  • College degree preferred

The team

Step was founded by financial industry veterans CJ MacDonald and Alexey Kalinichenko to provide teens and their families with financial tools for today’s modern-day banking needs and to promote financial literacy for the future. The founding team has 50+ years in combined financial technology experience across companies like Gyft, First Data, Square and Google.
