The Role

As the Partnerships Lead, you are a self-motivated and highly creative individual that has the ability to identify strategic opportunities to create win-win partnerships. You can solve opportunities for Step’s partners to grow their initiatives through a relationship with Step. You will help navigate and direct Step’s strategy and execution across partnership verticals including brands, retailers, gaming, employers, education and more. These partnerships will accelerate Step’s growth, brand presence and impact as well as overall customer experience.   

What you’ll do

  • Identify partnership verticals and create the strategy to develop relationships in these verticals
  • Create and maintain robust pipeline of opportunities against key verticals
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Design, Performance Marketing, Product Marketing, Social and Customer Operations
  • Create product insights and opportunities through strategic relationships
  • Manage a budget, maximizing both near and long-term ROI
  • Develop and own reporting and analytics to track and optimize efforts
  • Oversee the agreement and payment processes

What we’re looking for

  • 6+ years of brand partnerships, retail partnership, business development or relevant strategic experience
  • Expert in all things GenZ culture and trends
  • Experience with outreach, campaign management, partnership and contract negotiations
  • Self-starter, able to autonomously manage complex projects and keep multidisciplinary work streams on track
  • Ability to quickly learn, create and optimize new processes
  • Team-oriented mindset and highly cross-functional works with a wide range of individuals

The team

Step was founded by financial industry veterans CJ MacDonald and Alexey Kalinichenko to provide teens and their families with financial tools for today’s modern-day banking needs and to promote financial literacy for the future. The founding team has 50+ years in combined financial technology experience across companies like Gyft, First Data, Square and Google.
